A transformative seminar aimed at enhancing parental understanding of children’s emotions was held on September 27th, 2024 in SD Bilingual Hall Kanaan Tangerang. The seminar was taught by Mrs. Yulia Andres from Kanaan Learning Center and was supported by the local Parents Committee to enhance parents in “Understanding Your Children.”
The seminar was attended by diverse group of parents eager to deepen their insights into the emotional landscapes of their children. Mrs. Yulia Andres, known for her expertise in child education, guided participants through various activities designed to help them recognize and interpret their children’s emotional cues.
“We often underestimate the complexity of children’s emotions,” Mrs. Yulia Andres explained during her presentation. “It’s crucial for parents to understand that these emotions are valid and need to be acknowledged. This seminar aims to equip parents with the tools to respond effectively and supportively.”
Participants engaged in interactive discussions, role-playing scenarios, and group exercises that highlighted the importance of empathy and communication. Parents learned strategies for fostering open dialogue, helping children express their feelings, and creating a supportive home environment.
Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Many expressed gratitude for the practical tips and insights gained. “I used to struggle with my child’s mood swings,” said one parent. “Now, I feel more equipped to handle those situations with understanding and patience.”
The seminar concluded with a Q&A session, allowing parents to seek advice on specific challenges they face. The event not only strengthened the bond between parents and their children but also fostered a sense of community among attendees.
Mrs. Andres plans to conduct follow-up sessions, emphasizing the ongoing need for support and education in parenting. “Understanding our children is a journey, and I’m here to guide them every step of the way,” she stated.
The Kanaan parents’ community is looking forward to future programs that will continue to empower families and promote emotional well-being among children.
